Work-Based Learning Program

Greensburg Community High School students have the opportunity to enroll in our Work-Based Learning (WBL) program, which exists to help students learn more about a potential future career while receiving real-world, on-the-job training.   The success of the GCHS WBL program is directly related to our valuable community partners and their willingness, time and effort that they dedicate the students. Thank you to our past, present and future partners for helping to bridge education and opportunity for students.

WBL career opportunities can come from any field or employer. We ask employers to provide meaningful and authentic career-related experiences at their place of employment. Through this experience, a student will develop specific career-related skills, as well as a variety of employability skills, necessary for success in today’s workforce. WBL opportunities can take the form of internships, job-shadowing experiences, school-based enterprises, workplace simulation, or other experiences that follow a student's pathway towards graduation (i.e. Agriculture, Construction, Early Childhood, Nutrition, Welding, etc.)

If your employer is interested in participating in Work-Based Learning at GCHS, please contact Assistant Principal Sonja Kolkmeier at 812-663-7176 x1005 or via email at skolkmeier@greensburg.k12.in.us. Interested employers may learn more by opening this flier.
